Gamay Perugino (del Trasimeno), vinificated alone, dark and intense ruby red.
The grapes are stripped of the stem, pressed, fermented and macerated for 20 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in barriques and bottles for more than 20 months and sold on the market as reserve.
The bouquet is delicate and complex, with rich notes of wild berries, forest fruits and subtle herbal tones. The taste is dry and elegant, with notes of red fruit and delicate spices.

Ascanio grapes are softly pressed and skins are immediately removed. Fermentation is at controlled temperature lower than 18°C so as not to alter the aromas.
The bouquet is clean with a hint of white flowers and fragrance of apple. Taste is dry with pleasant notes of white fruit conveyed with assertive freshness.

Grapes which become Nuricante are softly pressed and skins are immediately removed. Fermentation is at controlled temperature so as not to alter the aromas. Part of the must is fermented in barriques in order to enhance the varietal characteristics.
The bouquet is intense and complex, characterized by a rich note of fresh fruit and subtle floral notes. Taste is dry, full and fragrant, elegant and harmonious with notes of green fruits.

The grapes are stripped of the stem, pressed and fermented. The must remains in contact with the skins for about 20-25 days. After being separated from the skins, the wine is aged in barriques and bottles for more than 20 months and sold on the market as reserve.
Corniolo has a broad and delicate bouquet, with rich notes of red fruits and delicate spices.
Dry, full and elegant, with complex fruit flavors and notes of sweet spices.

Gamay Perugino (del Trasimeno) vinificated alone, ruby red with intense purple overtones color.
The grapes are stripped of the steam, pressed and fermented for approximately 10 days. After the malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks.
The bouquet is intense and varietal, fresh and complex in the note of fresh forest fruits and in the hint of delicate spice. The flavor is dry, broad and elegant with notes of red fruit and sweet spices at the end.
The winery
Duca della Corgna
takes its name from Ascanio della Corgna, soldier of fortune, military engineer and architect who, with his heroic achievements, made this area known throughout Europe.
Located in the hearth of Umbria, a land marked by the culture of farming and winemaking, the winery is the result of the efforts of the growers of more coastal municipalities of Lake Trasimeno, Duca della Corgna is one of the most significant wineries in Umbria.
The wines
The uniqueness, originality and excellence of the Duca della Corgna wines are the result of cultivation and pure vinification of two native grape varieties: Gamay Perugino (or del Trasimeno) and Grechetto. These are joined by the traditional grapes of the area: the classic Sangiovese and Trebbiano Toscano.
The careful selection of the best quality grapes is the basis for the development of a "terroir" able to find its best expression thanks to wines of absolute elegance and uniqueness.
The range consists of red wines aged in barriques, red wines matured in stainless steel casks, fruity and floreal white wines, and white wines with structure reinforced by a careful step in barriques.
The latest born in the winery completes the range: it's a rosé made of pure Gamay Perugino grapes fermented in white; the scent is delicately floral with tones of rose.
